Ok, I admit it. I watch and monitor veoh.com for the newest Korean telenovelas and acylicious.wordpress.com for blog stats rather than reading my Principles of Language Learning and Teaching (H. Douglas Brown, 2000). I own it. My parents should disown me.
Well, not that at this age(ahem) one still needs to consult The parents, but ya’ know….
I had my dad on the phone just the other day and he was telling me that to his mind (and my own doing), he still looks at me sometimes as being 23. Hay! He was half joking and half serious. I laughed with him and yes, there is a grain of truth there. Hay, again!
Anyways, back to my veoh and wordpress monitoring. They have not commissioned me (pity!) to advertise, but I do so because I love them both!
It was Kim Rae Won, who did it. I mean, I wasn’t really into Korean telenovelas after Lovers in Paris and also Princess Hours but then came Which Star are you from? I fell, hook, line and sinker. I searched all over the Internet world for a place where I can be with Kim Rae Won. I googled him. I yahooed him, I didn’t MSN him but I got a wealth of information. (I do use MSN also… hi, MSN guys!)
One fine day, when I was searching for sites where I can actually view previews of his films, my neighbor told me about Veoh. Nice name huh? Nice site, really! There is a wealth of material there and it just makes you kind of fall in love with it also. To tell the truth I already have also fallen in love with Veoh. That doesn’t actually make me fickle, what with loving Kim Rae Won and now Veoh. Let’s just say that a I have a generous heart.
Which brings us to the topic at hand which is the reason why I monitor Veoh. There is this hilarious, totally entertaining new K-telenovala that everyone ought to watch. I’m sure that humor is universal but I’m also sure that there may be nuances in the universality. Korean humor really tickles my Filipino-Asian bones. So, if our brothers and sisters in the other continents wish to experiment on the effect of Asian humor to their __________ bones, well, I suggest you start watching this. Well, as long as you understand English, because you will have to catch the humor twice removed as it will be through English subs. It works for me, I hope it’ll work for you. The k-telenovela at hand is Coffee Prince. I’ll write about it another time, but do watch the preview.
Now, about my love for WordPress. Among other things, I can publish my work here, that is- those with sense and those which are totally non-sensical- and be fulfilled. WordPress does that for me. I can actually see my blog hits and I can see my stats, therefore the measure of its value… WordPress also does that for me. I can navigate easily to the blogs that I own and maintain, I can read comments and make comments, making my world a bigger place, as they say, by reaching out to others. WordPress does that for me, too. WordPress, does not pay me (again pity! lol) but strangely I feel rewarded every time I post something and WordPress tells me: Your Post has been published: View Site. I am a writer, a WordPress blogger, therefore I love WordPress.
